Crochet-a-Long

Well, I want to learn to crochet, so maybe I'll try this out. That panda is awfully cute.

Dishcloth....sort of.

Well, I started to crochet this dishcloth (found here), but I ran out of orange yarn before I could make it dishcloth size, so instead I finished what I could and then folded it in half and with some white yarn I whip stitched it together to make like a sponge thing. Then I just used a chain stitch to make a handle. Really easy, but I'm happy with it. I want to eventually make amigurumis, but things like this will help me actually learn to crochet before I try one of those. (:

Japanese Knot Bag

So, while browsing around online today, I found this cool tutorial for a Japanese Knot Bag. The pattern and instructions seemed easy enough, so I gave it a whirl. I love it! It's fully reversible too.

Super Simple Cupcake

I drew up a cupcake design and face while I was at work the other day. Today I made it into a stuffy (kind of flat though) for a pen pal for her birthday.

I think I did a lot better than usual on the embroidery features.

Easter Bunnies

I made these to send to a couple of pen pals. I know that by the time they get them, it will really be too late, but I think that is ok. They are cute little guys.

Easy Scrap Coaster

I made this out of the scraps leftover from the netbook case. Just a stitch up the middle and around the outside, then I ladder stitched the hole. Wah-lah-coaster.

Netbook Bag Complete (without button)

So, I have finally managed to finish the bag for my Dell Mini 9. It's still just a touch too big, but I'm ok with that. I added some batting to the inside to make it a little more protective of the netbook.

The only thing I have left to do is to add a button or some other type of closure.

Netbook Bag Cloth Prototypes

Well, the paperbag idea didn't work out. I just couldn't figure out how to make the sides work. So, I decided just on an envelope style.
The first one came out ok, but it leaves the seams on the inside showing and if I add padding, that would be showing on the inside as well. Not a big deal, but not as neat as I wanted. It was also too small.
The second one I based on this tutorial at Craftster, only I'm not using a zipper, so I just left that out. It came out with the smooth lining on the inside that I was looking for, but It didn't have a flap lid like I wanted. It also came a little small.
Next, I used the same tutorial and I stuck a flap where one side of a zipper would go (according to the tutorial). I need to make the flap a little bit smaller so it fits nicer on the inside, but I think this way will work out nicely. I also made it a lot bigger-it is actually a little too big now, but that is easier to fix.
The first one is on tope-the flap is hard to see. The 2nd one is under that and the 3rd one is on the very bottom of the pile. I only used a strip as the flap lid just to see if it would work, now that I know it would work, I would make a full sized flap next time.

Netbook Bag Prototype

So, I have a Dell Mini 9 and I want to make a bag for it, but I'm not quite sure how to do it. I have made up a paperbag prototype of what I want the bag to look like, but I want to make it padded, so I'm a little confused as to how to go about doing that.

Plus, I hurt my hand the other day and cutting is a bitch. ):

Little Visitor Swap

Well, Monkey has arrived home. I think I am going to name him McGee after the NCIS character. He's cute in a goofy sort of way, so I think it fits him pretty well.

Crochet Doll Scarf

I made this for a swap. I'm really quite proud of it. It's about my 2nd ever crochet project. I know it's all wonky and curly because I don't know how to control tension yet, but I'm just glad that I finished it.

The Toy Society

This is something similar to Book Crossing only instead of books, you use stuffies. The owner of this blog is trying to get more people involved and will soon expand this idea to other areas. We are in different countries, so I am not involved personally yet, but I really think this sounds like an awesome idea. Cross Stitch

Here are 2 cross stitch flowers I did awhile ago. They both came in little kits with all the thread and everything needed to complete the projects. They are my first cross stitch projects. I have a new little kit (of a cat) to work on next.

Purple Parrot

I can't believe I forgot to post this. I made this for a "Friend of Craftster" raffle swap. It was so much fun and this bird actually went to a girl with a friend that trains birds, so it was perfect.

Mended Puppy with New Friend

I've had this little white puppy plush forever. Even after my dog ate off one of the eyeballs, I just couldn't get rid of it. Finally, it hit me-just add new eyeballs. The new eyes are much bigger than the old eyes, but it's still cute. While I had the white puppy apart I decided to try and make a new one based on the shape of the white one. I had some socks that had worn out so they became a new puppy. OK, enough blabbing, onto the pictures.
